Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Though final mountainous level is a bit flat, Jumanji plays by its own rules and thus carries the comedy through to the finish. Black’s thunderous diva pairs perfectly with nervous nebula and soft Rock, while Hart is loveable as always. Peppered with amusing wrestler references including extended analysis of Johnsons.

The Fate of the Furious

Nobody Russels up the regulars to domin8 rogue Torreto as he remains oddly silent about his hijo ex machina, while driving for a nuclear blonde Fast Furiosa. Wave of World War Zehicles and Game of Thrones guests breathe nos into stale franchise, but the flame retardant finale is glacially sub-par.

Moana

Pixar pieces together another perfect hero’s journey. Outstandingly beautiful animation, innovative characters and EGOT worthy music make this tried and true structure feel fresh from the sea. The tone shifts continuously with fluid ease, and the comedy beats are occasionally punctuated with perfect emotional darts. Even the voice acting Rocks!
