Yew won’t believe the simultaneous emotional depth and high-flying cinematics of the BFTree. Irish male version of Pan’s Labyrinth features a struggling youngster who invents fantasy foliage in order to cope with his Rogue mother’s death and the Alien accent of his grandmother. Brilliant animation leaves little to be desired.

Silence

Brilliantly shot, deeply religious ode to Kurosawa follows padawan learners on quest to find Qui Gone. Incredible emotional performances almost compensate for linguistic inconsistencies, especially Neepadre’s, which is beyond Por. Impressive lack of preachiness in picture about preaching and palpable passion sustain picture despite plodding pacing. Scorsese scores, albeit silently.

Third Person

Get Taken for a few Hours in an Adaptation of grief by Neeson’s Beautiful Mind.  Meandering, unusual parallel story film in which the frame is 1/3 of the picture.  Phenomenal performances keep over-long film from dragging.  2/3 of people won’t get it, but it really caters to that third person.

Ted 2

McFarlane stuffs the same used plush formula with the same loveable live action Family jokes, but forgets the heartfelt story that made the first coming so accessible.  Amusing anecdotal episodes and silly celebrity cameos mesh horribly with the shoe-horned messages of the courtroom scenes and the bearly tolerable third act.
