Molly's Game

Sorkin had the nuts with Network, but his buy back isn’t such a hot hand. Chastised Chastain is exiled to Elba, and proceeds to read source material aloud, resulting in a lukewarm flop, a less than revolutionary turn, and a stagnant river. Entertaining but overlong, could have cashed out quicker.

The Dark Tower

Not only is it more forgettable than a childhood dream, but it also launches an attack on the newborn Stephen Kingdom (his cinematic universe) by lessening the impact of It and The Shining. McConaughey’s woodenness harkens back to his shirtless days, and Idris Elba certainly doesn’t kill with his performance.

Finding Dory

CG rollercoaster ride Weaves its way through the most ineptly maintained aquarium in history and a predictable plot that expends all of its emotional energy in the first big-eyed flashback. Ellen’s emphatic performance sustains long bouts out of water and ultimately makes for an enjoyable if underwhelming deep blue sequel.
