Kung Fu Panda 2

Worthy sequel to a brilliant film. Lacks emotional truth of a Pixar film, but still finds clever dialogue, incredible fight scene effects, and underused voice actors of first installment. Builds on first and leaves room for a third, in fact almost begs for a tri-doosh to contain this Black-built Panda.

The Graduate

Hoffman’s career (not in plastics) is born as the shmuck nerd star of this strange quasi-incestuous, morally ambiguous, sexually liberal story, that John Waters would have ruined completely. Inconic cinematic landmark that speaks volumes with its ambiguity, and is funny and charming to boot. Perfect final shot may seduce you.

I Heart Huckabees

Either an excellent satire or a laughable exploration of alternative mode of thought. Watts and Wahlberg take comedic turns while Schwartzman plays himself and Hoffman inhabits role that’s stranger than fiction. Contrived plot and quirky humor establish tone perfectly. Surely did for exercise balls what E.T. did for Reese’s Pieces.
