With Jean gone, Wolverine goes grey, and like the bad sonofabitch he is, he refuses to heal. Incredible depth of this superhero movie that’s not about powers makes X1-9 feel like fast food. Consequently this feels long. Stewart’s performance is forgetfully unforgettable and Jackman could be canonized as Santa Claws.

Picard gets upset when Chekov refuses to ignore a red-shirt death. Shock rock romp provides solid violence and tension you can really sink your teeth into but seems envious of both the artistry and sincerity of its less yellow predecessor.  Plot holes and unjustified twists ruin simple but tense premise.
