The Greatest Showman

A Passable Showman features glittery idealized representation of grotesque rags to riches story. Catchy lyrics and impressive acrobatics leap around above the mediocre missed messages of elephantine caca land, while Logan retains his ability to heal his reputation despite freakishly unkind behavior. Never quite lives up to spectacular opening moment.

With Jean gone, Wolverine goes grey, and like the bad sonofabitch he is, he refuses to heal. Incredible depth of this superhero movie that’s not about powers makes X1-9 feel like fast food. Consequently this feels long. Stewart’s performance is forgetfully unforgettable and Jackman could be canonized as Santa Claws.

Joe gets it Wrong again as neither Oz Luhrman spectacle, Peter’s les miserable backstory, or even Captain Jackman Sparrow can lift this cumbersome shipwreck into the Neverland of enjoyable storytelling.  John Wayne Hook and White Tiger Lily further encumber this fairly tall fairy tale that just can’t seem to fly.
