Love & Friendship

Though crisp whitty dialog moves story along, the staging and editing make it feel rather still, despite wacky Wes Anderson music and character intros. Sevigny and Beckinsale perform well but seem out of place in Last Days of Austen. Overall, an amusing effort that might fare better as a play.

Underworld: Awakening

Vampire: Resurrection is funderwhelming return to preresequeled universe of Twilight Matrix.  Goes in weird direction right off the bat, and Speedily sets up the mystery of a Man who never pays off.  Odd guest appearances and black and white plot points limit flick, but at least they got Beckinsale back.
