After attempting career Suicide, Smith keeps gasping for
Ayer, this time as the Neo-cop protagonist of Fantastic Bigots and How to Bind
Them. Joel’s Edgy orc is impressively empathetic in his inability to keep up
with the convoluted plot, and like most spells, the Rapacist is miscast. Not
too bright.

Prometheus
Fassbender admits that he is an acting machine, despite a
ship-wide lack of motivation in Lindeloff’s rendition of Lost in space. Incredible effects, stunning cinematography
and philosophical debates manage to rescue this illogical mess from falling into
a plot-chasm big enough for inexplicable zombies, quickie abortions, and old
guy Pearce.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
Film-makers re-prove how much smarter they are than you by solving the problem before determining what it is. Downey’s Holmes inverts Laurie’s House while strongest performance is laid down by law. McAdams subtraction filled by misplaced Rapace. Best aspects are elementary: stunningly slow effects, and a bit of Ritchie wit.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009)
Beautifully shot foreign detective film featuring two master performances from actors who will likely break into the American scene soon. Like Lehane books/films focuses more on characters than story but both aspects hold their own. Early tangential rape scenes could have been omitted, but why not include them. Remake unnecessary.
