Wait until daylight plays with horror tropes, bringing the
blindness of the lambs to the person under the stairs. Flash-forward lets
audience see too much. Underwhelming protagonists are easily overpowered by
well-conceived bad guy’s oddly empathetic agenda, not to mention the strength
that Lang brings to his alarmingly well-envisioned basterd.

Alice Through the Looking Glass
Bobin mirrors Burton to admirable effect. Alice navigates a
visually astounding narrative maze on foolhardy Adventure through Underland,
finding herself lost in the machines and machinations of a monarchy of
Miserables. Depp phones it in, but it’s still a call worth answering, especially
as writers sing Carrols of frabjous wordplay.

Legend
Hardy does double-tom to deliver kray-kray performance in an
otherwise bland London crime epic. Goodblokes feels like a poor Guy Richie
piece as it walks a straight line from start to finish with the only arc
provided by love story which is almost as forced and underwhelming as Browning’s
voiceover.
