Eva’s Xavier raises mutant misfits in dark shadows of time while bland Butterfield mopes around and stares Woodily at everything. Bizarre mix of digital and practical effects is almost as disconcerting as Jackson’s eyes, and ultimately no amount of hot air can make this plot-heavy ship float to the surface.

The M Night Returns with cohesively fragmented Splitchcockian gem. Perfectly proportioned seriousness to silliness and monstrously meaningful moral message add further psychological support to writing and directing that are almost as strong as McAvoy’s performances combined. Despite Signs to the contrary Shyamalan ended up Breaking out of his Senseless streak.

Complexity of Potter disapparates in favor of tired arc where boys end up liking girls and vice versa. Imaginative vfx float their way through an unimaginative plot to explode at an unexpected Imaginarium.
